Joseph Alcazar became “very interested in competing” after a friend invited him to a Stoa tournament. This one connection grew into dozens, and Joseph poured his time and talents into debate, eventually leading his club’s novice program. He shared that the opportunity “to invest in that younger generation and see those same kids compete and graduate was an unmatched gift.” He is thankful for how God used those events to form a tight-knit circle of friends and relationships. He challenges Stoa alums to continue to engage with the league and give back to the Stoa community. Joseph recently graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. He works for DBU as the Coordinator of Homeschool Relations. He is newly married to a Stoa alum.
