Ready-Set-Speech

It is time to gear up for a new season. Here are some ideas to get you started:

  1. Pick a plot-based Interp. A plot is the story arc that takes the listener on a journey with the characters and contains an introduction, a problem that needs solving, and a resolution.

  2. Prepare for the Founders Award requirements.

  3. Print out the ballots for the events you are competing in. The speech ballots have new criteria for each event. Make sure to utilize the ballots to write an optimal speech. Join the “Speeches that Soar” webinar on September 19 for more ballot details and check out the Stoa Visual Library for help with Interps and Platforms.

  4. Plan to grow. This is the last year to try out Interp in a Box. Take a chance on a new event!

  5. Peruse the Executive Summary. Coaching Tip: Do not miss the revised Expos rule, the Mars Hill Disclaimer, and the update concerning self-published works.
