Grassroots Servant Leadership: The Who, What, How of Stoa

Stoa’s Training and Development Committee, chaired by Michelle Hawkinson, seeks to equip parents and club leaders to teach homeschool students to speak boldly and change the world for Christ! This committee facilitates several Stoa member benefits.

Have you seen these resources?

  • Club in a Box: Game and drill ideas; club documents; speech lessons; beginning debate lessons; camp resources; club start-up resources; Club in a Box Junior; and more!

  • Tournament in a Box: Step-by-step tournament planning; tournament roles and training; and tournament toolkits including script sub, schedules, hospitality, awards, and more!

  • Stoa2Go videos: Promotional videos on parent expectations; overcoming the fear of public speaking; three forms of debate; and speech success tips.

  • Parent and Leader Training webinars: Interactive webinars are offered several times a year and archived in the Stoa Visual Library. Subjects include: “Cultivating Club Growth”, “Ethos, Ethics, and Evidence”, “How to be a Supportive Stoa Parent”, “Winning and Losing Well”, and more!

Training and Development also helps new clubs and tournaments get started and connects both new and experienced members to resources to aid them on their Stoa journey. Can we help? Reach out to training@stoausa.org!
